You will be responsible for providing advice, support and guidance to students on personal and welfare related issues at each stage of the learner pathway - pre-entry, on-programme and exit. You will support students who are experiencing emotional or practical difficulties that are affecting their learning, where necessary referring to other support agents both inside and outside the University. You will work closely with academic staff and other departments within the university. You will use your initiative,drive and enthusiasm to develop the service and resources available.
You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and you will have experience of working within a welfare department of an educational establishment. Experience of working with vulnerable people would be an advantage. You will have excellent customer service and communication skills. Through your experience, you will be able to demonstrate empathy and an ability to build rapport quickly with people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
