The University of Law (ULaw) is one of the world's largest law schools. With an impressive history dating back to 1876, we employ over 1,000 staff and have over 14,000 students studying on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, along with an alumni network in excess of 100,000. We were the first-ever independent institution to be granted degree awarding powers and in 2012 we gained university title. With a rich heritage and a reputation for innovation and contemporary teaching practices, we continuously focus on developing the best legal and business minds. In 2016, we opened our leading Business School, further enhancing our reputation as a full service legal, business and educational training specialist, operating from campuses throughout the UK, Berlin and Hong Kong and an Online campus.
What really sets us apart from other universities is the guiding principle that future lawyers and business leaders should learn in a realistic, professional and contemporary context, with plenty of practical interactive engagement. That's why we keep our contact hours high and our teaching groups small.
At the Online Campus we are looking to recruit a home based Student Welcome and Events Officer.
Working as part of the Student Information Service team, this role will organise and coordinate the delivery of welcome, induction and on course events ensuring that students across all programmes are offered opportunities to engage and integrate with each other and University staff throughout their on-course journey.
You will be an active team player and contribute to the delivery of consistent student support and engagement activities across ULaw.
We offer an excellent range of competitive benefits including a generous annual leave allowance, private medical scheme, contributory pension scheme, life assurance, training and qualifications, and travel loans.
Closing date: 23rd January 2022
Virtual (Teams) Interviews will be held: week commencing 31st January 2022

Our approach
Diversity and Inclusion is central to everything we do. We are actively committed to promoting and participating in good practice in the way we attract and retain staff, as we appreciate the value and benefits of a truly diverse workforce. Aligned to this is the opportunity to join one of our three self-organised staff networks for Black, Asian and Minority staff, Disabled staff and LGBTQ+ staff.
We celebrate difference and recognise the benefits that this brings to our inclusive culture, including age, disability, gender identity and expression, religion, race, sex, sexual orientation and socio economic background. The University is committed to ensuring our workforce is reflective of our diverse student population and, therefore, we are striving to increase the representation of Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) backgrounds across all roles and at all levels. All appointments will be made on merit
