We currently have the following vacancy within our student support team:
Mental Health Advisor - South
Based in our London campuses, you will provide expert practical advice and guidance to staff supporting students presenting with mental health issues across a number of ULaw campuses. Promoting positive mental wellbeing to both staff and students, you will also be responsible for increasing mental health awareness and delivering staff training. You will use your initiative, drive and enthusiasm and work alongside other team members to develop the service and resources available. A key part of the role will be to evaluate and formulate plans with students experiencing complex mental health issues, supporting them to successfully complete their studies. In addition, you will accept and respond to Support to Study and Cause for Concern referrals, assessing risk and making recommendations to panel discussions as required.
You will be educated to at least degree level and hold a mental health or psychological therapy qualification. It is essential that you are able to prioritise and plan, have an understanding of safeguarding and the ability to develop effective working relationships with stakeholders. You will have excellent customer service and communication skills. Through your experience, you will be able to demonstrate empathy and an ability to build rapport quickly with people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
