This is a new role, setting up the Pro Bono offering on the new Nottingham Campus. The Employability Service is a critical feature within the University and involves interaction with prospective students and their parents/guardians, current students and alumni.
The Pro Bono Co-ordinator will be responsible locally for provision of a suite of Pro Bono schemes for students to participate in. Some of this will be personally supervised but it will also be necessary to develop relationships with local professionals with the requisite qualifications to supervise additional opportunities.
The University is committed to the ethos of Pro Bono as well as recognising the benefits derived by students in undertaking such experience. The successful candidate will have support and guidance in developing the offer, but will have significant discretion in determining the overall programme.
Given the broad reach of the Employability Service there is a need for close working relationships with colleagues in many departments across the campus and indeed across other ULaw campuses.
This is an exciting time to be joining the Employability Service as the University expands its portfolio of courses and responds to the changing legal qualification landscape.
It is essential that all applicants have a legal qualification and have (or can successfully apply for) a Practicing Certificate.
This is a part-time role. Although it is likely that this will amount to fixed days per week (to be agreed, but to be consistent with the teaching timetable), it is expected that some flexibility within this will be shown, in working at other times so as to meet business needs eg student supervision, Open Day attendance, national team meetings etc
We offer an excellent range of competitive benefits including a generous annual leave allowance, private medical scheme, contributory pension scheme, life assurance, training and qualifications, and travel loans.
If you would like to arrange an informal discussion prior to application, please e-mail John Watkins, Director of Employability at john.watkins@law.ac.uk or phone 01483 216747.
No agencies please.
This post is subject to a DBS check.
The University is committed to the equality of opportunity.
